As a general rule, we ask that parents and students wait a couple of weeks after joining to purchase a uniform to be sure that this is something your child definitely would like to pursue.
Until you are ready to purchase uniform for your child, they can attend in leggings or joggers and a Tshirt. Must be in bare feet.
If you are confident that your child would like to stay with us, you can find our uniform list here - Uniforms (dancestudio22.com) If you read the write ups by each item, it will tell you what sessions the item is suitable for.
All lessons are £5.50 apart from private lessons. As per our Terms and Conditions, payment has to be made regardless of attendance. You will not be charged if the school is closed. Please read our Terms and Conditions: Terms and Conditions (dancestudio22.com)
Private lessons are only offered to dancers who attend regular group sessions. Private lessons are mainly used to prepare for competitions and/or to focus on specific needs, such as obtaining that tumble you have been so close to but just haven't got yet or preparing for an upcoming audition.
Thank you for choosing us! You can register your child by contacting Donna on 07928307107. We would prefer by Whatsapp or Text message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
You could also contact us via the contact me options on this website or email us on donna.howell@blueyonder.co.uk
Due to Covid, we no longer take cash payments. Payments must be made via bank transfer on the Monday prior to your lesson. If you message Donna on 07928307107, she will give you our bank details.
We suggest trying the beginner sessions first, where the teachers can assess their level and decide which session would be appropriate for them.
All our classes are based on ability not age. You will see a good age range in all of our classes.

We like to make it clear to all parents from the beginning that our school is serious about dance and require a high level of attendance and home practice to ensure continuous progression and achievement. You also need to be aware of the terms regarding payment for all absences including illness. As this is in line with all other dance schools in the area and the Alexander Stadium's Gmac.
Please look at our Terms and Conditions here: Terms and Conditions (dancestudio22.com)
We do not accept any students who do not agree or abide by our Terms and Conditions.
We post our closures for the year in January. Any time our school is closed, we do not charge for classes.
You can find our yearly closures here: CLOSURES | Dance Studio 22
We don't let parents in the studio while class is on. We find this usually makes it harder for the new students and regular dancers.
New students tend to run back to their parents instead of joining in and it distracts the students who attend on a regular basis.
Children tend to become shy and embarrassed when adults are in the room.
Also, due to child protection regulations, we wouldn't be able to check the validity of any adult in the room.
All teachers and staff members inside the room have been DBS checked for the safety of your children.
Please see our Terms and Conditions here: Terms and Conditions (dancestudio22.com)
From January to after the Summer Holiday's we work on technique exercises and combinations in preparation for our spectacular Christmas Show, which is mandatory for every single student to take part in.
If your child takes one class, they will be in one full dance routine. If your child takes multiple classes, they will be in multiple dance routines.
However after each class, each week, the children should be practicing at home.
We do also have social media platforms where the teachers will upload photos and videos. This is not something we do regularly as training is more important that keeping social media up-to-date but if you follow us on our social medial platforms, you may see your child. Only parents and students of our current dance family will be granted access to our social media pages. Our Facebook page is public and will only have updates of children who's parents who have approved it.

We also suggest you keep up-to-date with our 'News' page for more frequent updates: News (dancestudio22.com)
We are an IDTA, UKA and Acrobatic Arts registered Dance School who offer exams throughout the year.
Dance Studio 22 private lesson dancers get to participate in 3 competitions per year.
We participate in one Chance2Dance performance per year - This could be at the Birmingham Hippodrome, Blackpool Winter Gardens, Drayton Manor, Alton Towers and lots, lots more!
November Presentation - All students who take private lessons throughout the year get to participate in a presentation show in November where they are able to perform their solos, duets, trios and groups to their families who may not have been able to watch them compete. Throughout the year's competitions, students will have achieved medals, trophies, certificates and other awards. These awards will be presented to the students during the November presentation. We also present a shield engraved with the name of the highest marked dancer of the year.
Christmas Show - We have a December Christmas show every year where all students of Dance Studio 22 get to show off all the hard work they have put in all year!
We also try our best to perform at any extra events during the year, i.e., Festivals and Charity Events.
